Meeru Coral Restoration

We started the celebration of the month of the ocean with an awareness session about coral reefs and our property's Coral Restoration Project on World Reef Awareness Day.
The day began with collecting broken pieces of corals which were carefully attached onto coral frames, and then placed in Meeru's coral garden for the fragments to flourish. Meeru team members, guests, and staff from Euro-Divers joined hands to realise this eco project.
The Coral Restoration Project at Meeru started in 2016 and was designed to regenerate segments of the reef and promote new corals' growth. Since then, a variety of marine species have made our coral garden their habitat — a fascinating sight for all marine life enthusiasts.

In Meeru lagoon now there is a new coral frame ✨
A couple of days ago we recycled a metal frame, that would have ended up in the trash, we put it in the lagoon and we started planting acropora corals.
We can’t wait to see it full! But for the good things you need to be patient, right?
