| Malhendhoo nell'atollo di Noonu pulizia della spiaggia da parte della popolazione maldiviana e poi, discussione tutti assieme per trovare soluzioni a questo problema che, se non risolto, continuaerà a ripetersi sempre di più CITAZIONE Today the community of Noonu Malhendhoo said enough was enough and united to clean up their island and the beach and rid it of all the trash. The grand clean up which ran whole day saw people of all ages taking to the beach and the bush with sacks and rakes picking and sweeping up the garbage as they went along. The event reflected true community spirit.
The conclusion of the clean up was the highlight of the grand event. A discussion was held by the Island Council where community members reflected on their experience. The discussion rounded up around everyone’s wish of putting an end to trashing and not to have to re-do all the work in a few weeks time. A plan and roadmap was developed for addressing the issue of improper disposal of waste in the island.    |
